Sake Study Day for Japanese government orgs in the UK

One of Sake Samurai UK’s longstanding project is to communicate with Japanese officials in London for the same purpose of promoting Japanese drinks. This project started about 10 years ago to educate new staff with the knowledge of sake itself as well as domestic, overseas and UK alcohol market, Japan Local government Center (Clair) provided the venue inviting teams from the embassy of Japan, Jetro London and JNTO. Tazaki Foods generously sponsored with a selection of various types of sake and gave a tutoring tasting lecture. Rie Yoshitake, the advocate of this project, opened the event explaining about diminishing sake industry in Japan and thriving overseas market as a contrast. Ms Aoi Kuze gave insights on the current UK market and trend, problems and opportunities. This study group is particularly effective to create the solidarity amongst Japanese organisations to share information for the one same aim to develop international sake market.
